At CB Burkholder Homes, we are committed to taking the mystery out of the new home buying process. From your first visit, to the day you move into your new home, we will strive to create a more comfortable home buying experience. Let us guide you step by step.
Explore
You are invited to visit our sales center and get acquainted with the community, our homes and your CB Burkholder Homes new home advisor in a relaxed, enjoyable environment. Together we will discuss your needs and dreams for a new home.
Choose
As you decide which floorplan that best fits your budget and lifestyle, we will also discuss the included features and any custom features that you may want to add to your home. We will make every effort to be transparent about the total investment for your home by creating an easy-to-understand Custom Features Addendum. Be prepared to discuss your financing options since a pre-qualification letter is required. Your new home advisor will gladly refer you to one of our trusted mortgage partners. When you have made your decision about the home model, custom features and location of your new home, your new home advisor will write a purchase agreement using the Standard Agreement of Sale for New Construction. The required builder addenda and documents will also be included. You will be asked to make a good-faith deposit. Upon completion of your Agreement, your advisor will forward it to your lender and continue to communicate with them throughout the building process.
Personalize
Now it is time to personalize your home by finalizing your interior and exterior selections at our sales center. You will be asked to complete your selections within three weeks of the agreement date. Again, your new home advisor will assist you in that process.
Watch
Watch your dream come to life as construction on your new home progresses. Feel free to coordinate visits to the home site with your new home advisor. When your home is completely finished, you will meet with the builder for your New Home Orientation as you get better acquainted with your home. Settlement is that exciting day when you sign the documents and receive the keys to your new home!
Enjoy
After closing, you get to enjoy the style, value and comfort of your new CB Burkholder home. We hope your home will be filled with love, happiness and meaningful connections with family and friends.
Purchasing a completed home is a more streamlined process because the selections have already been made, the home is completed and is in turn-key condition. The three steps in the buying process that are the same as a to-be-built home are:
- A pre-qualification letter
- An Agreement of Sale
- A good-faith deposit
